WHY Are We ALWAYS In A RUSH?

I forgot it was a holiday weekend and ended up in a super long security line at LAX. I was completely impatient and antsy.

I made myself feel like I was in a rush, but here’s the thing, I had absolutely no reason to be because I had 3 hours until my flight. Why couldn’t I just chill out and wait in line patiently?

See, we are conditioned by society to always be on the go, ready for the next thing or the next best thing.

That’s exactly what I was doing, I wasn’t paying attention to that moment.  In my mind I was already at the gate and on my flight, when really I had 3 hours to spare.

So I got to thinking, what if we all just relaxed into ourselves during those moments of anxiousness, or feeling the need to be in a rush ready for the next best thing?

What if we embraced the process instead of rushed to the finish line?

I find this is most important in relationships, embracing the uncertainty, the excitement, the butterflies, you know, the PROCESS.

Think about it for a second, how many times have you rushed to the finish-line for it to blow up in your face?

How many times have you hated the uncertainty so much that you felt the need to put a label on your relationship for it to end a bit later?

I used to be like this. I used to hate the process and hate the uncertainty. (I mean I was out of my mind, I would overanalyze every single thing.)

What I realized then was, it was FEAR that was in my way. A fear of putting in all this effort for it not to work out, or that without a label the guy would leave me, or worse, cheat on me. I realized that I was getting in my own way. My own fear ruined my relationship as I was self-sabotaging in wanting to rush the process, rather than lay down a solid foundation.

So what I want for you is this; to be able to sit in that uncertainty, sit in that excitement, embrace those butterflies, and love the process so that you can relax into yourself and embrace it.

The foundation of a new relationship is the most important part. Once you are able to lay down those building blocks you’re set, so embrace that process, You got this girl!
